In February of 1976, Ghandie, an Alexandrine Ringneck Parakeet entered our lives. She helped us learn, understand and love birds. It is because of her that we started helping birds and the people who care about them. Since then, we have helped thousands of birds find new families.
No, that isn't a fish, that is Ghandie, the First Lady of HomeTweetHome. Oh, and Doreen... one of the guardians of the tweets
Our family: humans, birds, cats and our newly adopted Dog Child (rescue) Sammie are moving to a wonderful new farm in Upstate NY. We will be building a large building for the birds that will include their own kitchen, emergency care area, quarantine and supply area. We will be set up to take in birds who need temporary housing because of emergencies that the families they live with have. There are several wonderful avian vets in the area so we know they will have wonderful medical care.
This is our house
