Ghandie, the First Lady of HomeTweetHome
Do you remember when the moment was that you
fell in love with birds? For as long as I can
remember, I have loved birds. Whatever I was
doing, I would just stop and watch them, watch
bathe in little road side puddles... I just loved
  watching them.

My  "moment" came, the night of February 24th,
1976. That was the night my mom and dad
  brought Ghandie home....

Friends of the family had Ghandie for many years
and now needed to find a home for her. They knew
I loved her. During my visits to their home, I would
sit for hours: feeding her, playing with her, just
  watching her...........

When I got home the night of February 24th, 1996,
in the middle of my dinning room table, there was
something that looked a big box covered with a
blanket. I asked what it was, my parents told me to
uncover it..... I did- it was Ghandie. I was in shock. I
couldn't talk, I didn't know what to say. They could
have given me a new car and it wouldn't have meant
half as much as getting Ghandie. She opened my
world up for me......... It is because of her, because
of her love for me and mine for her, that we started
  HomeTweetHome.........
