N O R... M A N..... THAT's NORMAL FOR NORMAN....
When Norman was nothing more then a little egg, the breeder who had his mom and dad needed to incubate his egg.....  In the middle of the night there was a malfunction in the incubator and all the moisture in Normans tiny egg dried out..... Norman was ready to hatch and when he did he was stuck to the shell..... He turned and he twisted and he tried to get free..... When his human helped him, she realized he had a twisted neck. She knew he would need a special home and asked if we would adopt him.........
OF COURSE WE WOULD !!!  So in July of 1992, Norman came home with us at about just 7 weeks of age.
Here you can see Norman just after he joined us.... Looking a bit... well, upside down...
He doesn't ALWAYS look that way..... to the LEFT is how he CAN look if he wants... But when he is RELAXED... he is VERY RELAXED !!! LOL
Norman turns 15 this year. I think everyone has something special about a bird that touches their heart... Our mom passed away in 2003, our Dad in 2001. Both of them loved the birds as much as we all do and would spent time with them- giving them treats, checking food and water and just talking to them. One very special thing that Norman does that well, broke my heart the first time I heard it, but now gives me comfort it- Norman says several words and phrases that both mom and dad use to say to them. Good Morning Sweet Hearts, Hello Babies, Turnpike Marine... Just after dad passed, Norman stopped saying dad's phrases. I think all the birds went thru a minor bout of depression. One of their favorite humans was missing and they didn't understand it...............   The same thing happened after mom passed.
